Mainline scoops Mobile magazine's Best Airtime Distributor!

Hot on the heels of our Mobile News Award for Best Distributor (Airtime) in March this year, we've now got a lovely pair of awards gracing our offices.

Last Thursday Mobile magazine presented Gail Hollinshead, Mainline's Director of Dealer Sales, with the award at a lavish ceremony held at The Brewery in London and hosted by comedian and media personality Rufus Hound.

What the judges said about Mainline...

Mainline may only sell Orange, but the distributor awards are all about being the best at what you do, whatever niche you occupy.  One judge said: 'The financial performance is clearly linked to
a "get the basics right" approach with the customer at the centre.

The judges liked Mainline's 'great investment in IT systems and POS back office support' and its 'good online dealer experience, which is well executed'.  Mainline's online portal, iManage, enables dealers to access account information 24/7 on a real-time basis.

The distributor also set up its own in-house telemarketing team after dealers got frustrated with using third-party agencies and introduced accompanied appointments to help strengthen dealer propositions to potential customers.

Its other 2009 initiatives included the launch of a £1m Dealer Development Fund, which offers loans to dealers judged to have a sound business development plans. 

Mainline's ability to offer higher commissions and weekly payments to its dealers, along with aligning itself more strongly to Orange's move towards retention and away from churn, impressed the judges enough for it to win the award.
